In recent days several cases have come to light in which business owners fell victim to this type of scam. It consists of deceiving the owner of the premises to buy a product without making the payment, since they use credit cards that simulate the transaction approved.
The axis of the deception is that the owner of the business You won’t realize the scam until after a while. According to Julio Lopeza cybersecurity specialist, scammers use cards that fail to pay with a chip or magnetic stripe.

As detailed in statements to All News, when the card is passed through the magnetic stripe reader, it is not read or recognized. The same happens when you try to pay with a chip. At that moment, the buyer suggests calling the number on the card, which supposedly belongs to the entity that issued the plastic.

When the business owner communicates with the supposed operator, he comments on what happened and from the “entity” they ask you to put the posnet in “offline” modethat is, disconnected from the network.
Then they ask card number, expiration date and the security code. There they warn you that the plastic has funds and that you can make the purchase.
The “double call” scam, the new technique to steal data and money from users
