ANSES denied this Saturday a journalistic note that had stated that “The vice president, Cristina Kirchner, charges more than 9 million pesos a month for her privileged double pension”noting in a statement that “That figure is not only false but also crazy”although in the denial no figures are given about the precise amount that the former president receives.
The organization that leads fernanda raverta pointed out that the pension income of the former president “they are fixed by law and do not constitute any privilege”indicating that this is due to “her character as former constitutional President for two terms, which means that Law No. 24,018 gives her the right to a lifetime allowance equivalent to that received by those who have integrated the Supreme Court of Justice as magistrates of the Nation”.
“Likewise, in her capacity as the widow of former president Néstor Kirchner, she receives the corresponding allowance, like the widows of former presidents Carlos Saúl Menem (Zulema Yoma) and Fernando de la Rúa (Inés Pertiné). Therefore, the Perception of said allocation does not constitute any privilege of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner”, added the ANSES.
In the statement, ANSES pointed out that the amount received by Cristina as ex-president is the same as that received by former presidents Adolfo Rodríguez Saá and Mauricio Macri.
However, ANSES placed special emphasis on denying that in the case of CFK “both assignments add up to more than 9 million pesos”highlighting that this figure from the Clarín note “It’s not only false, but it’s also crazy.”
“It is important to point out that the amount of the lifetime allowance established in the aforementioned law corresponds to the remuneration received by a judge of the Supreme Court of Justice while he is active. These same receive the gross amount since, as is Public knowledge, judges do not deduct income tax from their remuneration in activity or from their allowance once they retire, while presidents and vice presidents do,” the ANSES note indicated.
Finally, the Raverta agency pointed out that the information that had circulated on Friday “is decidedly biased and responds to the clear intention of continuing the permanent task of defamation and stigmatization of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.”
ANSES had been left in the middle of the controversy over the salaries received by former president Cristina Kirchner, beyond the amounts, due to the decision not to appeal the sentences that ordered those payments, a procedure that the entity carries out almost routinely in actions legal proceedings of millions of liabilities, a circumstance that sometimes means that they must wait decades for the final ruling on their claims.
Thus, in October 2021, the agency presented a brief to the Justice in which it ruled out appealing the ruling that ordered the return of the double board to the vice president Cristina Kirchnerwhich then represented about 2.5 million pesos per month, a benefit that had been interrupted during the government of Mauricio Macri. The judicial wrestling also included a retroactive millionaire and interest.
The Social Security body had returned to pay that benefit, after a resolution by the Treasury attorney, Carlos Zannini.
