Although in the first instance the Minister of Security of Buenos Aires Sergio Berni had indicated that he would not denounce the workers who attacked him in the protest for the murder of the bus driver Daniel Barrientos, the truth is that the matter was prosecuted due to the intervention of the Police of the City and this Thursday there were huge operations to arrest the two defendants at their homes.
The subject even deserved messages from Vice President Cristina Kirchnerwho tweeted: “They tell me that it was a joint operation of the CABA police with the Buenos Aires police. Was it necessary magnitude of the operation And the treatment given to the detainee, as if it were a question of apprehending a drug trafficker in his bunker?”.
The truth is that this Thursday Berni himself tried to justify the actions of the uniformed officers, pointing out that “what happened is part of the procedures that must be followed as a rule in each raid, because regardless of what it is, the life of the police officers,” Berni stressed, pointing out that “If anyone felt overwhelmed by the operation, I apologize.”
Berni’s statements came after a meeting of almost an hour with bus drivers from different lines in the suburbs, on which occasion he rejected the criticism of the different political spaces for the “aggressiveness” that the police showed when arresting the two accused drivers of the attack on Berni. “If there was an excess it will be punished”Bernie assured.
In that meeting with the drivers, different ways of reinforcing security were agreed, and Berni insisted that the case came to Justice against his will, since “The apologies offered by the workers are enough for me”, but admitted that the possible release of the detained workers “Now it depends on the City Attorney’s Office.”

“On the versions that were launched from Kirchnerism itself, even from Governor Axel Kicillof, linking the violent episodes of General Paz with incitement or infiltrators from the opposition, Berni distanced himself: “I am convinced that, for our part, they are workers, even today there was a statement apologizing from the workers, that for me is more than enough.”
“If they are drivers and they were not infiltrated, I am not going to be part of any judicial matter, and if they were infiltrated we still have a lot of time,” said the official, who pointed out that his role often leads him to tense situations because “To be Minister of Security is not to be the general manager of Disney.”
Meanwhile, he pointed out that his priority is to “stop the murderers” of the driver of line 620: “I am indebted to the family, I have a moral obligation to find the murderers.” “I am not working on the infiltrators, my priority and that of all the investigative resources we have is to find the criminals who murdered the bus driver,” Berni concluded.
