The ambassador of Argentina in Brazil, Daniel Scioli, slipped his intention to compete in the internal Frente de Todos to define the candidate for the Presidency, something that has not yet been defined in line with the discussions that took place within the ruling coalition.
In the midst of the internal party context, Daniel Scioli published an open letter to respond to those who ask him “about his plans for this year.” “Once again I tell you: count on me As usual“, he pointed out. His gesture, meanwhile, was interpreted as a sign that the former candidate for president could return to compete in the Peronist internal to define the candidate to keep the Rivadavia seat.
Daniel Scioli: “My style is emotional diplomacy”
The ruling party is convulsed regarding the definition of the candidacies, especially those that concern the national Executive in the hands of Alberto Fernandez, who has not yet defined whether he will run for re-election or whether he will step aside. This was made clear last week at the National Table of the Front of Allwhich met at the historic headquarters of the Justicialista Party, where there were no definitions as to who would lead the ballot, in the midst of the internal conflict that afflicts the tripartite space.

Scioli defended Alberto and pointed against the Peronist inmate
Scioli, meanwhile, was no stranger to these internal discussions led by the President and Vice President Cristina Kirchner. In a gesture of support for the president of the PJ, the former governor of Buenos Aires highlighted the “effort to maintain unity with a high sense of responsibility” and for “facing unpredictable events such as the pandemic and war.” He also thanked him for trusting him to name him ambassador to Brazil, at a decisive moment considering that Argentina’s strategic partner was led by Jair Bolsonaro.
Regarding the internal discussions, the former Buenos Aires governor said: “I believe in the need to face the debates, with respect and firmness. As I did, contributing my vision in 2015. I was not wrong in the forecasts or in the forms. The time turned out to be, once again, a great computer and vindicator. I prioritized giving certainties to raising empty slogans”.

Daniel Scioli’s letter
However, given the possibility that Alberto Fernández declines his candidacy in favor of a better candidate, Scioli expressed his “commitment” to the Front ahead of the presidential elections. “I always committed myself. I was never indifferent. I will not be now, in the maturity of my life and with the experience in my favor. Loyalty will continue to be my road map,” he highlighted.
Scioli affirmed today that he feels “with strength and energy to work even more” for the country. In this sense, he highlighted his “moderate and conciliatory” character, a value that takes on another importance in the midst of the discussions of the Frente de Todos. “Sometimes moderation is confused with lukewarmness”, stressed the ambassador and argued: “Being moderate is much more difficult than being extreme, it is being firm and tenacious with the ideas that are carried forward, which allows building consensus to make viable policies that improve the lives of our people and guarantee equal opportunities”.
Scioli supported Pope Francis: “His words cannot offend anyone”
“My essence is to reconcile, decompress and reach agreements that make it possible to consolidate growth with stability and social inclusion, with predictability and trust,” he said, adding: “Today I feel strong and energetic to work even more for my country, for the dream of a Great Argentina that was the one that inspired my sporting life and each one of the responsibilities for which I was chosen by the popular vote”.
By way of conclusion, the ambassador stated: “Half the country is less than thirty years old and demands a vision of the future, which is ultimately what unites us. The other half demands a present that rewards their efforts. Here I am. I am the usual Daniel, with more faith and hope than ever. Count on me. I’m counting on you.”
Regarding his role in the elections, Scioli is determined to be a presidential candidate for the Frente de Todos, but he has not yet discussed his eventual candidacy with the top leaders of the ruling coalition. “He is expectant and eager,” party sources summed up NA.
His management before the Argentine embassy in Brasilia
“I assumed the mission of ambassador in Brazil with the pacifying vocation that characterized my whole life, to transform adversities into opportunities. The results are in sight,” said Scioli in relation to his appointment as ambassador, a position that he interrupted after his fleeting passage through the Ministry of Productive Development in July 2022.
Daniel Scioli: “Despite the Bolsonaro fanaticism, we managed to make Brazil the first commercial partner of Argentina”
“The relationship with Brazil grew to recover the place of first commercial partner and reach the record of exchange in the last nine years. All this despite the ideological differences. I exercised a diplomacy of results, because the Homeland comes first. And because the Mercosur is strategic for sustained growth and development,” he pointed out.
“I resolved commercial disputes that affected the exports of the regional economies and guaranteed the supply of energy that our country needed to face last winter and what it will require for the next. I learned that with common sense, pragmatism and resilience we can find solutions,” he added. .
