Kirchnerism seeks to stop the opposition advance so as not to lose power in the Senate

After the departure of some senators from the Frente de Todos (FdT) to form the Federal Unit bloc, Kirchnerism seeks to neutralize the advance of the opposition in the Upper House by not having the number of legislators to achieve their own quorum. In this regard, the ruling party intends to agree on a consensus on the issues to be discussed with the opposition bench.

For the first time in more than three years, the FdT seeks to establish a dialogue to agree on the agenda on the projects to be discussed in the compound with the opposition blocs, who had proposed to call a special session separately. For this reason, the ruling party summoned the presidents of the blocks to a meeting of Parliamentary Work.

In the last days, Federal Unit formalized a request for a special session to discuss on Wednesday, March 29, among other issues, the appointment of judges from the city of Rosario, affected by the escalation of drug violence in the city. The Juntos por el Cambio (JxC) interblock joined with a similar request, but for the moment they have not unified positions.
