Last Sunday, the lifeless body of Louise, 12 years old, was found in a forest in Freudenberg, Germany. The girl had disappeared the day before after meeting her “best friends” to play. Initially, the minors had said that the victim had decided to return home when she vanished. However, it was later discovered that they murdered her with 32 stab wounds.
Luise disappeared on Saturday March 11 in the afternoon, after a sleepover at the house of her friend Luisa Halberstadt, 13 years old. During the day, Anna-Marie Hoffman, 12, joined the girls. The suspects are believed to have guided the teenager to the scene of the crime through a disused railway tunnel that leads from the village of Hohenhain, three kilometers from Freudenberg, into the forest.
Horror in Germany: two girls aged 12 and 13 confessed that they stabbed another girl
According to authorities, once they reached the forest, the girls they stabbed to the victim 32 times to later push his body down an embankment. In dialogue with the Daily Mail, investigators explained that while “the murder weapon has not yet been found,” it could be a nail file. “Although initially we thought it could be a knife, we now suspect that it could be a nail file,” they detailed in this regard.
Added to this, they indicated that the perpetrators placed a plastic bag on Luise’s head and that one of the girls told the other: “Hit her with a rock or you’ll be lying next to her”. Authorities suspect the 13-year-old girl forced the youngest to help her.
After the stabbing, the girls returned to the house of the under-13-year-old, where one of the parents later looked for the youngest. Once the minor left, the teenager called Luise’s parents and told them that the victim had decided to return to her house at 5:30 p.m. and that she wanted to know if she had arrived safely. Since her presumed friend did not return her call, the girl called again several times because I was worried”.

Because the exact time of death has not yet been determined, the police fear that the minor she would have been alive when she was thrown down the slope. The weekend that she was attacked, the area where she was located presented conditions below zero.
Koblenz prosecutor Mario Mannweiler said at a press conference after Luise’s discovery that “the girl died as a result of numerous stab wounds and consequent loss of blood.” In addition, he indicated thator there was “no indication of a sexual offence”.
A source close to the cause described the fact as “terrible”. “The act itself was terrible. Seasoned officers who have been involved in many homicide cases were shocked by the murder. Not only because of the age of the victim, but also because of the age of the suspects,” he commented in dialogue with the Daily Mail.

The police indicated that during the search and subsequent questioning, the two girls made contradictory statements. However, both finally confessed to the crime on Monday March 13.
Due to the age of the adolescents, the defendants cannot be tried under German law since liability begins at the age of 14. Added to this, the authorities moved the girls and their families out of the area for their safety. It is the first time in Germany that such young girls have committed a murder against a victim of the same age.
Bullying or rivalry for a boy: the possible motives behind the crime
For now, the reason is unknown for which the adolescents decided to murder their “best friend”, although the two main hypotheses are that Luise suffered bullying and “ratted on” them to an adult or that it was because of a “love rivalry” for a boy.
The three girls attended the Esther-Bejarano Comprehensive School and had known each other for years. Even They were described as “best friends” by his companions. But according to the German newspaper Bildthe girl was murdered “in revenge” for having told an adult that the murderers had been bullying him for months.
Added to this, a German journalist from WELT discovered that the perpetrators uploaded dancing videos to their TikTok accounts hours after the crime, which shocked the community and the police. Amid criticism of the teens for the murder, comments on the alleged post indicated that the event occurred due to a love rivalry. Given the discovery of the profiles, the authorities reported on March 17 that the accounts had already been closed.
